Kill Fire Device

Device that would kill fire
It seems to me very strange at the 21st century that we havent discovered yet a method to kill fire fast. Look how advanced the weapon systems are , you can watch from a TV a cross and a missile going to a target through walls. And yet we cannot kill fire fast enough to save human lives and trees , animals etc. I suppose a chemical that could be disolved in water and should be of course ecological could be the solution. Maybe the Government should fund such projects at Universities through young minds.
